Lot modes
How fixed lot, compound growth and balance % size each trade, with worked examples.
Each symbol has its own lot setting. Until you pick one, signals for that symbol are not executed. Choose it on the terminal page with βSelect lot and runβ on the symbol row.
Fixed Lot
Every trade opens this exact lot. Balance and PnL don't change it.
- Every signal opens the same lot, whether your balance grows or shrinks.
- A BUY signal opens a buy, a SELL signal opens a sell; an opposite position is closed first.
- The simplest and most predictable option, recommended to start with.
Example: Set 0.10 and every trade is 0.10 lot.
When your TradingView strategy says "BUY" β 0.10 lot of buy is opened. When it says "SELL" β the buy is closed and 0.10 lot of sell is opened. When it says "FLAT" β the position is closed. Your balance can be 50,000 or 500,000 β the lot stays the same. The simplest and safest method.
The lot is rounded down to the symbol's lot step: with a step of 0.01, 0.015 opens as 0.01. The lot window warns you before saving.
Compound Growth
Scale lots from initial capital, start date and a position multiplier. Currency conversion is automatic.
- You set aside an amount for this symbol (starting capital, in (account currency)). The robot sizes trades from that amount; the rest of your account is not used.
- When this symbol wins, the amount grows and the next trades get bigger; when it loses, the amount and the trades shrink. Profits are reinvested.
- The position multiplier is how big each trade is compared with that amount: 1 = the amount itself, 2 = twice it, 0.5 = half. It is not your broker's leverage.
Example: You set aside 10,000 (account currency) with multiplier 1. The first trade is worth about 10,000 (account currency). If this symbol then makes 1,000 (account currency), the next trade is worth 11,000 (account currency); if it loses 1,000 (account currency), 9,000 (account currency).
Exact formula (for the curious)
You set aside 100,000 βΊ for AKBNK futures, multiplier 1 (1 lot β 6,000 βΊ at 60 βΊ): β’ First trade β 100,000 βΊ β about 16 lots β’ After AKBNK made +15,000 βΊ β 115,000 βΊ β about 19 lots β’ After AKBNK lost 15,000 βΊ β 85,000 βΊ β about 14 lots
You set aside 10,000 $ for EURUSD, multiplier 1 (1 lot β 108,500 $ at 1.0850): β’ First trade β 10,000 $ β about 0.09 lot β’ Multiplier 2 β 20,000 $ β about 0.18 lot β’ After EURUSD made +1,000 $ β 11,000 $ β about 0.10 lot
Balance Percentage
Each trade is worth this percentage of your account balance.
- Each trade is worth the chosen percentage of your current account balance.
- As the balance grows, trades grow; as it shrinks, they shrink. The whole account balance is used.
- The position multiplier scales it: 1 = exactly the percentage, 2 = twice it. Using it on several symbols adds up the total risk.
Example: Balance 20,000 (account currency), 10%, multiplier 1 β each trade is worth about 2,000 (account currency).
Exact formula (for the curious)
Balance $100,000, EURUSD @ 1.0850 (1 lot β $108,500): β’ 2% Γ multiplier 1 β $2,000 Γ· 108,500 β 0.02 lot β’ 50% Γ multiplier 4 β $200,000 Γ· 108,500 β 1.84 lot
Balance βΊ100,000, AKBNK futures @ βΊ60 (1 lot = 100 shares β βΊ6,000): β’ 2% Γ multiplier 1 β βΊ2,000 Γ· 6,000 β 0 β rounded up to the minimum 1 lot β’ 50% Γ multiplier 2 β βΊ100,000 Γ· 6,000 β 16 lot
Next lot preview
For compound and balance %, the robot works out the lot from the live price and balance and shows it on the symbol row as βNext lotβ. It recalculates every 30 seconds; right after you change the settings the row says βcalculatingβ¦β until the new figure arrives. Hover it to see what one lot is worth in your account currency.
Behaviour (every mode)
If a signal arrives in the same direction
You are already long and another buy arrives. 'Ignore' keeps the current position (recommended); 'Add' opens another position on top.
Safety stop
Your strategy manages the exit. This stop only protects you if TradingView or the connection fails. When it fires the position closes in MT5; your strategy doesn't know, and as long as it still counts itself long/short, new signals are processed normally.
What the EA does automatically
What the EA does automatically
Whichever lot mode you pick, the EA performs the checks below on every trade. You don't have to do anything.
- Min / max lotCompound and balance % are clamped to the broker's limits; a fixed lot below the minimum is rejected and shown here
- Lot step roundingRounds down to the broker's step (e.g. 0.01 or 1)
- Contract sizeForex 100,000, futures 100 β read directly from MT5
- Partial fill follow-upTries to top up any remaining lot automatically
- Fill type detectionFOK / IOC / Return β picked per broker and symbol
- Smart retryTemporary errors (requote, no quotes) are retried up to 3Γ; permanent rejections (no money, market closed) are reported once
